Our purpose is to learn to know the Amazon in all its aspects and to get as deep as possible.
So today the software that will store all the available information, empty, but tested and approved in the smallest details is already on the scene. It is an open-source, Distance Learning platform, LMS (Learning Management Software), used worldwide for educational programs, training and learning of all kinds. About Moodle, schools and even universities are created in a virtual learning environment, extremely rich in tools and interactivity.
Why all this? In the first place, the author, Leonide Principe *, since arriving here, has an insatiable thirst for knowledge of the Amazon region. From the beginning he created a database to store all the information collected in his expeditions and reports. Five years ago this database gained a consistency and an objective: Amazoniapedia. The desire to share and contribute with actions aimed at the widespread and diffuse knowledge of the biome is born. The general population, children, students, teachers and faculty, public officials and administrators will surely be the best advocates of the Amazon getting to know more and more of their region.
